  • (Fall 2004)
    BOND commissioned and premiered Ljova's arrangement of a Russian-Gypsy tune MAMA, I LOVE THE GYPSY JANA! on their tours in Asia and Australia. In a separate tour, The Pablo Quartet premiered the arrangement on their tour in Japan.
  • (October 19 ,2004)
    The New York Viola Society presented a program dedicated to the theme Violist as Composer where Ljova's FOUR (for four violas) was prominently featured, performed by Ljova joined by Ann Roggen, Liuh-Wen Ting and Kenji Bunch.
  • (Fall 2004)
    Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Project commissioned Ljova several new arrangements which they premiered at Tanglewood, as well as at Zankel Hall (Carnegie Hall) in New York.
  • (Summer 2004)
    Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Project are performing Ljova's arrangements of Gypsy tunes on their world tours. Since January 2004, these arrangements have been heard in: (East coast tour: Boston MA, Charleston SC, Columbus GA, Gainesville FL, Clearwater FL, Saratoga FL, West Palm Beach FL, Miami FL) (Midwest tour: Kansas City, Lawrence KS, Rockford IL, Flint MI, Detroit MI, Akron OH) (Asia tour: Singapore, Taipei, Seoul), Tanglewood Music Festival, BBC Proms (London UK)

  • (Fall 2003)

  • (Fall 2003)
    Two new CDs featuring Ljova are released: Misha Stefanuk's "Suite for Viola and Jazz Trio" (amongst other of Misha's viola-centric works) and "Heavenly Lullabies", a CD benefiting the Twin Towers Orphans Fund.
  • (October 31-November 2, 2003)
    Lev continues his association with the wonderful Raw Impressions group, creating a theatrical piece for actor and musician in 5 days and premiering it at Chashama/TIXE immediately after. With the actor Tchera Niyego and writer Vanessa Garcia.
  • (October 25, 2003)
    Lev's "PotpourElaine" for three violins receives a world premiere from the NJ-based The Sutton Ensemble, led by dear friend Elaine Sutin.

  • (October 20, 2003)
    Lev premieres Joseph Pehrson's "Levitations" for viola and piano (composed for him) with Leonard J. Lehrman at the New York Viola Society's Collegiate concerts.
  • (October 2-5, 2003)
    Lev makes his debut at the celebrated Bargemusic chamber music
    series, performing trios by Mozart, Schubert, Beethoven and
    Francaix with his friend and collaborator Jakub Omsky on cello
    and violinist Mark Peskanov. Improvisations between pieces were
    also heard.
  • (September 25, 2003)
    Lev and flutist Yulia Musayelyan perform at a benefit for the
    Angel Orensanz Foundation, sharing the stage with the performance
    artist Karen Finley and LEMUR project robots.
  • (September 21, 2003)
    First formal appearance with jazz-guitar legend Bucky Pizzarelli,
    bassist Jerry Bruno and the Sutton Ensemble at Ramapo College.
    Even took a solo on "Nuages".
  • (September 2003)
    The young pianist Soheil Nasseri performs Lev's "Sicilienne"
    for piano solo
    on Bonnie Grice's Public Radio program "This

    World premiere performance of "Transformation"
    for six vocalists, jazz trio and chamber orchestra
    (2003)
    in Los Angeles, starring the Wild Ginger Philharmonic under
    the direction of Jason M. Gamer (who also wrote the lyrics).

    Ljova performs with jazz-guitar legend Bucky Pizzarelli and

  • (February 9, 2003)
    Ljova premieres the Concerto for Viola and Orchestra
    by Newton Strandberg, with the New York Symphonic Arts Ensemble
    and Timothy Hutto conducting.
  • (January 29, 2003)

    Ljova returns from Europe (trip sponsored by Arts International's
    Artists Exploration Fund) after appearances and recordings in
    France, United Kingdom, Russia, Spain, Belgium and The Netherlands.

  • (December 19, 2002)
    Ljova makes his debut at Tonic
    (venerable NYC downtown club) with Steven
